Wolf Trap National Park for the Performing Arts - Meadow Commons
Owner: Wolf Trap Foundation
Architect: Gensler
Another award winning project on the campus of the Wolf Trap National Park for the Performing Arts in Vienna, VA. A transformative structure that serves the patrons of the Wolf Trap during the summer concert season and beyond. This project included demolishing single story concessions structure and replacing it with a three-story, 15,000+ SF amenity within the scheduled performance off-season. As part of the 50th Anniversary Campaign for Wolf Trap, the Meadow Commons building serves two crucial functions: modernizing and upgrading existing facilities and providing access for all patrons to the lower bowl and seating area. Upgrades include improved concessions with expanded offerings, new family restrooms, a donor lounge with a dedicated bar, elevators, a lower level “drink stop” and additional public restrooms serving patrons for both the lawn and house. Completed in time for the 2024 Filene Center Performance season, Meadow Commons was the 2024 NAIOP Northern Virginia Public Capital Improvement of the Year Award winner.
